Hyderabad, Dec 9 (IANS) Infrastructure development company Maytas Infra Ltd, engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T), and industrial pump manufacturer Kirloskar Brothers will jointly execute the Godavari drinking water supply scheme at a cost of Rs.8.1 billion, it was announced here Tuesday.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has entrusted the three companies with the project, Maytas Infra said in a statement.
The project is aimed at bringing water from Godavari river to Hyderabad and its outskirts to meet the growing demand for drinking water.
The project will be executed in Kondapak and Ghanpur near Hyderabad, and entails supply of 735 million litres of treated Godavari water per day through a 58-km-long pipeline, said the statement.
