Haryana to train more nurses for foreign shores

24 July, 2008 19:16:56

Chandigarh, July 24 (IANS) Responding to the increased demand for Indian nurses in other countries, the Haryana Overseas Placement Bureau (OPB) has decided to start three more training centres for nurses in the state.

The new centres, at Faridabad, Hissar and Rohtak, will be in addition to the existing ones in Panchkula, Ambala and Karnal.

The new institutes will start functioning from August this year, said an official here.

The OPB has already signed a memorandum of understanding with the Modi Healthcare Placement (India) Private Limited for recruitment of trained nurses from Haryana for other countries.

The government training centres impart necessary training to the nursing applicants and place them abroad through the legal immigration route, the official said.
